SO HERES THE DEAL.....
My sneaky wife and her mom....
I had been poking around looking at bike when I happened to come across a really nice 2004 Roadie at a dealership. I went back and looked at it a time or two when my wife finally pushed me into taking it out for a test ride. At the time I had a 1983 Yamaha Venture that was a kick ass bike. I had rode that thing everywhere. It was fast, comfy and reliable. BUT it was kinda old. I was looking for something a little more "current". I had ridden HD for many, many years and missed my apehangers and straight pipes and I was kinda leaning towards a Heritage until I saw this bike. ANYWAY.... I took this beast out for a test ride. The second I sat on it I fit right into it, like it had been built for me. The sound coming from the pipes being pushed by a massive motor was amazing. But the real test was ...how does she run. I had been riding a Yamaha and was impressed by the overall preformance of the bike, but that one was over 20 years old. So what would this newer one do? I putted around the streets by the dealership getting a feel for the bike then headed out to a semi secluded back road and jumped on the throttle. Before I new it I was doing 90 in a 45 with a handfull of throttle left PLUS another gear to go. The wife said I was lit up like a retard on a fieldtrip when I got back. Believe it or not I decided NOT to buy the bike. I didn't wanna get under a bike payment and wasn't even sure if I could afford it.
I stewed on that for a couple of days, thinking about the bike at night while I was laying in bed. MAN I liked that bike. One morning my wife says " Lets go back and look at bikes again" to which I replied "Why? I will never be able to afford one so why go look." She told me to quit being such a baby and get dressed. So next thing I know we are at the dealership and I found myself staring at this bike again. I was starting to get depressed because I knew I could never have it. We went ahead and talked to the sales guy and he in turn talked to the finance guy. They made me wait for what seemed like an eternity. So the sales guy walks up to me and asks if I have any other ideas because he can't finance me. My anger must have been showing because he started laughing....which REALLY pissed me off, I was 2 seconds off punching a hole though his face. Then he handed me the keys! My wife and her mom had gotten together with the sales guy and the finace guy and set this whole thing up while I was sleeping! I had the bike before I even woke up that morning! I was in shock. Totally stunned. I bet the look on my face was priceless.
I dont even know how to thank those two. I really dont. Words could never say enough.
SO THANKS MOM !!!
BOTH OF YOU
